In 1982, Sergei Dvortsevoy graduated from the Kryvyi Rih Aeronautical College, and in 1988 - Novosibirsk State Technical University. In 1990, he started the Master's Courses for Film Directors. In 2008, the film Tulpan was the winner of the Prix Un Certain Regard at the Cannes FF.
