GAIFF Pro
It goes without saying that a film festival means more than just the screening of films. With an extensive program, boasting workshops, masterclass talks, pitching sessions and one-on-one meetings, this year’s GAIFF Pro certainly will be a strong stimulus to fostering film talent in Armenia and across the world.

Master of pleasant misery
Kicking-off with a screening of the instant Christmas-classic The Holdovers, Monday July 8 sees the opening of a retrospective program dedicated to the American-Greek auteur Alexander Payne, who is widely celebrated for his wistful tragicomic drama, and is received in Yerevan as one of the Jury president of the International Competition. Don’t miss out on a chance to meet the master during his Rendezvous talk on Wednesday July 10 at 15:00 in AGBU.

Let him be Frank
From his menacing role as Francis Underwood in House of Cards to his powerful presence in classics like American Beauty and The Usual Suspects, this icon of the American screen has given us some unforgettable characters. Kevin Spacey is a Guest of Honour at this years’ GAIFF. Audience members can meet him during his Rendez-Vous in House of Cinema on Tuesday July 9, while ten pre-selected acting students will get an acting workshop with the master. Meanwhile, a special screening of Alan Parker’s The Life of David Gale (2003) is presented on July 9 in honor of Kevin Spacey.

Sharpening their pencils
Starting on Monday July 8, the third edition of the GAIFF Pro Critics Campus kicks-off. In a four-day workshop, Leonardo Goi, film critic, editor, and coordinator of the Berlinale Talents Critics Lab, returns to GAIFF Pro to share his industry know-how, while walking six emerging talents in film criticism through a full programme, including film screenings, group activities, and practical feedback sessions. Expect some of their texts in the upcoming issues of the GAIFF Daily.
