Irene Bartolomé
Irene Bartolomé is a filmmaker from Barcelona, Spain, and living in Beirut, Lebanon. Her first feature-length film, Dream օf Another Summer (2026), premiered at CPH:DOX and won the NEXT:WAVE award. She has also directed the short film Lunch Time and co-directed The Williamsburg Houses with visual artist Tessa Rex. Both short films examine different facets of urbanism in Cairo and New York, respectively. Over the past fifteen years, Irene has worked as a film editor and consultant. And in 2023, she founded Lemu Helu, a production company dedicated to supporting unconventional films and artistic projects. Irene holds a BA in Film Editing from ECAM Film School (Escuela de Cinematografía y Audiovisuales de Madrid), a Master’s in Creative Documentary from Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, and an MA in Film and Screen Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London. She was also a collaborative fellow at UnionDocs Center for Documentary Art in Brooklyn, New York, from 2014 to 2015.
