Yella has decided to leave her small town in eastern Germany for a new life on the other side of the Elbe, leaving behind a failed marriage and broken dreams. In Hannover, Yella meets Philipp, a young executive at an equity firm, who gives her a job as his assistant. Yella soon discovers she has a knack with ruthless businessmen.Yella sees a potential future with Philipp. His goals could become shared projects. She could finally get everything she has ever wanted. But strange voices and sounds are plaguing Yella – truths from her past coming back to haunt her. She begins to worry that her new life could be too good to be true.

| Petzold, Christian  Christian Petzold (born 1960, Hilden, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany)
He moved to Berlin in 1981. He studied German language and literature. From 1988-94 he studied at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin (dffb), during which time he also worked as an assistant director for Harun Farocki and Hartmut Bitomsky. In 1995 he directed his first feature film. He received the German Film Award in Gold for Die innere Sicherheit (2000).
