Jul 16, 2010	Sergei Loznitsa's My Joy at the main competition of the 7th GOLDEN APRICOT This year Sergei Loznitsa presents his first feature film My Joy at the 7th GOLDEN APRICOT Festival. The film is about a man who veers off the road and gets lost in the wild open spaces of the Russian provinces, becoming immersed in a world that transforms his personality – a world of fear, cruelty and treachery. “When I write a script, a feature film is more looked at, while a documentary is just filmed, the reality is witnessed and the situation is controlled”, said Sergei Loznitsa, mentioning that documentary and feature films can quite often be the same.
Jul 16, 2010	"The director builds a house, and the cinematographer paints that house" Pavel Kostomarov “Once I saw my classmate’s small camera, and asked myself why I had no camera”, confessed director Pavel Kostomarov. “Later, I bought a camera and was completely engaged with photography”. Cinematographer and director Pavel Kostomarov presents his Together in the International documentary competition of the 7th GOLDEN APRICOT Festival. The film is about love and harmony.
Jul 16, 2010	Films from Iran and Lebanon in Armenian Panorama National Competition Program The famous Iranian actress Mahaya Petrosyan and director Amir Toodeh Roosta present their first joint work, A Beautiful Snowy Day, in the Armenian Panorama National Competition of the 7th GOLDEN APRICOT IFF. “The film was made based on a story of an Iranian writer, which I have read 15 years ago and was much impressed. I am the scriptwriter, and the script differs much from the story itself, and I am also the protagonist of the film”, said Mahaya Petrosyan mentioning that she is very happy to present her first work of a director in Armenia.

Sep 1, 2010	THE NILSSON AWARD FOR HARUTYUN KHACHATRYAN Filmmakers Alliance is pleased to announce that starting in 2010, we have invited Rob Nilsson to curate the film award which bears his name. The inaugural recipient in 2008, Nilsson will select a filmmaker who, in his judgment, opens up new territory, or transforms the old, with unique artistry and an eye for “the way things seem to be.” The award will be given annually at VisionFest - presented by Filmmakers Alliance in August at the Directors Guild of America. This year’s award recipient will be Harutyun Khachatryan from Armenia.
Jul 18, 2010	Winners of the 7th GOLDEN APRIC OT Yerevan International Film Festival The 7th GOLDEN APRIC OT Festival is over, the closing ceremony of which was held in the Moscow Cinema. The Festival received 500 applications, at about 120 films have been selected and showcased, 45 of which were in the 3 sections of the international competition, and there were 5 international juries.
Jul 17, 2010	Brazilian filmmakers at the GOLDEN APRICOT Film Festival Rogerio Correa, Brazilian director, presents his documentary Double Territory in the International Documentary Competition of the GOLDEN APRICOT Film Festival. Leon Cakoff (Leon Chadarevian), a Brazilian of Armenian origin, founder of the São Paulo Film Festival, has also arrived to Armenia.
Jul 17, 2010	“I wish the films could change the world” Semih Kaplanoglu “Whenever I am working on the film scenario I am mostly concerned with the main hero”, said the Turkish director, producer, scriptwriter and cinematographer Semih Kaplanoglu, who presented Honey, the last film of his trilogy at the 7th GOLDEN APRICOT Festival.
