SYNOPSIS

A young, adventurous “English teacher” is assigned to carry out a “linguistic revolution” in the remote Georgian village. Basically looking for new adventures the teacher finds himself on the frontier of the big political change in the country. In order to get rid of the Soviet legacy and engage with the western world, government initiates a project to “invade” Georgia with English speakers. Excited traveler is determined to contribute to a “radical changes” in a small post soviet country. But when the first wave of excitement disappears, he is confronted with the gloomy reality...There are no signs of revolutionary changes, and no desire to change at all. Villagers are facing completely different set of challenges.

Nino Orjonikidze

Documentary film director and producer. Nino started her career as a TV reporter at Rustavi 2. After graduating from Goldsmiths, University of London, she worked as a producer and director of documentary films for Rustavi 2 and, later, for Internews Georgia. 

In 2008, Nino established independent production company Artefact Production. She is the producer and author of four documentary films. Nino is a faculty of the Caucasus school of Journalism and Media Management, teaching MA students documentary film and TV reporting.

Vano Arsenishvili

Director

Vano Arsenishvili

Film director, cinematographer and editor. After graduating from Film Institute in Tbilisi, he has studied at the Vienna Film Academy – Film Directing Department. He has directed several short films and documentaries. Since 2004, Vano worked for TV production in Georgia on reality shows and documentaries. Occasionally work as project consultant/editor on different media projects/documentary or fiction films. In 2008, he established Artefact Production. Since then he works on documentary film production (directing, editing, filming, web design).
