We Just Wanted to Be Happy is a film about a mother's powerful and invincible might. It all started with a phone call to a wrong number, she became acquainted with a detainee. A few short months later they decide to get married. The wedding takes place in a Penitentiary. Shortly thereafter, to avoid social stigma and personal issue, her parents and the in-laws kick her out of their homes. Who will be triumphant? Will society dishearten this young couple and split them apart? How do they meet and communicate with one another? When will the husband be freed from the penitentiary? In what conditions will the child be raised? This film tries to answer those questions.

Got a profession of documentary film director at Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema. Currently doing PhD at the same institute. Directed films in Armenia, Turkey, Czech Republic. This year Seg has launched two new documentary films. One of them is related with the theme of Armenian Genocide and the shootings took place in the cities of historycal Armenia.
