It has been 30 years since Skhtorashen village in Martuni region of Nagorno Karabakh Republic is deserted. The only inhabitant left is 83-year-old Lena. She has been all alone in the village for two years. Her husband used to live with her and refused to leave the village regardless the fact that it was getting deserted. Bad roads and the absence of a school resulted in people leaving Skhtorashen. Lena has four sons. One of them died in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) war. Her other sons along with nine grandchildren live in nearby villages. Lena wishes her village not to get abandoned and disappear from the map.

Garegin Papoyan studied in Armenian State University of Economics and worked in the sphere of communication for 10 years. He has over five years of experience in documentary photography. He has worked as a cameraman for various TV programs and films at spiritual-cultural TV channel Shoghakat for about a year. In 2015, Garegin shot his first documentary short film, Skhtorashen. Currently he is working on a new feature short film.
