Three Lies, a social thriller, is the first film of the Spanish cinema that addresses the issue of stolen children, focusing on the helplessness that women were subjected to in Spain not so long ago. A brave and tender movie, full of rhythm with a Nora Navas, transfigured into a modern and radical tattoo artist, a courageous woman in search of the truth. With the help of Angel, the police officer from the Missing Persons Unit, this courageous woman is bent on discovering what went on during the last years of Franco’s regime up until 1990, in a flat in Bilbao where young pregnant women were confined to hide the fact that they were single mothers, a terribly shameful situation in those days. A mysterious organization, which has disappeared without leaving a trace, kept their children and made a shady business of it. Violeta dedicates herself body and soul to reveal who was behind it all, encountering firmly closed doors.

Though Three lies is her first feature film, Ana Murugarren is a film director and editor with a lengthy career in the Spanish audiovisual industry. Awarded the Prize for Best Edition by the Circle of Film Writers for her work in All for the money ( Dir.: Enrique Urbizu), the Best Editing Award and the Special Prize of the Jury for The Price of Freedom at the San Francisco Women's Independent Festival in 2012, as well as the Film Creativity Award for her documentary This Is Not the Private Life of Javier Krahe, film also selected for the Pearls of the San Sebastian FF in its 60th edition.
