Born in Liaoning, China in 1971, Zhao Liang graduated from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 1992. Based in Beijing since 1993, he has been working as an independent documentary filmmaker as well as an artist in photography and video art. His films Behemoth (2015), Petition (2009), Crime and Punishment (2007), Together (2011) and Paper Airplane (2001) have been selected and screened in Cannes, Venice, Berlin and other film festivals worldwide.

Born 1966.04.28 in Vilnius, Lithuania. 1984-1989 studied film directing in Vilnius State Conservatorium. 1989 studied in Jonas Mekas Film Anthology Archive New York.
His films got numerous international film awards. Among them Audience award in Nyon, Grand Prix in Split, prizes in Bornholm, Florence, Gyor, Neu Brandenburg, Oberhausen, Bilbao and San Francisco.
In 1992 the documentary film “Earth of the Blind” was recognised by European Film Academy as the Best European Documentary Film of the Year and received Felix Award.

Ben van Lieshout
Born in the Netherlands, in 1951, Ben van Lieshout is an independent award-winning director, producer and screenwriter. He directed short films, documentaries and feature films. He is also a lecturer at the Utrecht School of the Arts.

Graduated from All Russian State Cinematography Institute (VGIK, Moscow), where he studied Direction, in 1996. Worked as a director and script writer at Film-M Studio, Moscow (1996 - 2000), at Ethno-Online Production Company, as Head of the Center of Audiovisual Anthropology of IEA RAS (PhD Dissertation on the Culture of Marine Mammal Hunting of Chukotka Peninsula Natives (Chukchi and Yupik Peoples), 2000 - 2008. Since 2008 he is the owner, producer, director and scriptwriter of High Latitudes ltd.
Tamara Stepanyan was born in Armenia. During the breakdown of the Soviet Union in the early 90's, she moved to Lebanon. After studying and working in Lebanon, she pursued her studies at The National Film School of Denmark. Since 7 years now, she is working and living in France where she has finished already one feature documentary film and is in preparation of two other films. Stepanyan made a number of films that were shown and primed in prestigious festivals like Locarno, Busan, La Rochelle. As well she participated in film workshops worldwide. Her latest film Those from the Shore won the Grand Prix of Amiens IFF (France), the Prize for Best Documentary at Golden Apricot IFF and the Best Directing Award at Global Cinema FF of Boston (USA).
