‘How are you?’ asks the director from people leaving a Prague subway station. The short answers of tired passers-by are followed in subsequent scenes by statements from Czech youth, recorded from an almost unbearable proximity. Furious drunkenness is replaced by tender embraces, and behind the harsh words lie love that always falls short.

Maja Penčič
Maja Penčič is a Czech filmmaker with Balkan roots; she is currently studying documentary film at FAMU. Her short film Passportless Mess (2022) had its international premiere at the Doclisboa festival in Portugal, where it received an Honorable Mention from the Jury. Her feature debut, Minimum Love (2025), premiered at the Jihlava International Documentary FF, where it won the Award for Best Cinematography, and had its international premiere at the Visions du Réel festival in 2026.
