Talent Lab, Let There Be Light, CIS Program. GAIFF day 3

The third day of 16th Golden Apricot Yerevan IFF, started on July 9 with the opening of the Talent Lab program. Talent Lab is a development program for young professionals in the film industry, which is being implemented within the framework of the festival. Talent Lab will consist of four workhops for actors, producers / directors, artists and film critics. Within the framework of Talent Lab, master classes will feature industry leaders from around the world. They will share their long-term experience with young cinematographers from all over the world.

Press Conferences with Zorica Nusheva (God Exists, Her Name is Petrunija), Valentin Novopolskij (Oleg), Benik Arakelyan and Darya Shumakova ( I’ll Come Back Home ) were held. Rendezvous at AGBU hosted famous Polish actor Jan Nowicki.

One of the most significant events of the day took place in Echmiadzin. The ceremony of awarding the "Let there be Light" award took place. The prize was set by the Armenian Apostolic Church and Catholicos of All Armenians. It was given to the director of the full-length program jury of this year, film director, screenwriter Aleksandr Mindadze. Founder, president of Golden Apricot Harutyun Khachatryan noted that the prize was given to a very honored person, a laureate of many awards, who started his career as a screenwriter and then began to shoot films based on his scenarios. Mindadze thanked for the award, underlining that he was very toched by it.

Opening of CIS Program was held in Gyumri. It opened with premiere of the film Sabre Dance by Yusup Razikov, dedicated to famous composer Aram Khachaturian. CIS Program will present film screenings, guests and students from CIS countries will take part in a joint roundtable discussion. Within the framework of the program films of recent years o and on-going projects of CIS will be presented.

Tribute to Sergei Parajanov was payed with screening of the films ''Hakob Hovnatanyan'', ''Kiev Frescos'', ''Arabesques on the Pirosmani Theme''.

Opening of New French Cinema Program was held with Yerevan Premiere of the film Varda by Agnès by Agnes Varda. A secret screening was held at the end of the day. Nadav Lapid's "Synonyms" was presented to Armenian filmmakers.
