ONCE WITHIN A TIME
52 MIN
2022
A dreamlike fairy tale unfolds in a surreal landscape populated by children, mythical figures, and symbolic characters. Two innocent young heroes are cast into a strange world where technology, memory, destruction, and hope collide. Blending fantasy, visual poetry, apocalyptic humor, and philosophical reflection, the film imagines both the end of one world and the possible birth of another. Through images rather than dialogue, Reggio explores humanity's uncertain future while preserving a sense of wonder and optimism.

Godfrey Reggio (born 1940)
Godfrey Reggio, born in 1940, is one of the most influential figures in experimental cinema. Best known for the Qatsi Trilogy—Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, and Naqoyqatsi—he creates largely wordless films that examine the relationship between humanity, technology, nature, and modern civilization. Throughout his career he has collaborated closely with composer Philip Glass, producing some of the most distinctive audiovisual works in contemporary cinema. Once within a Time marks his return to feature filmmaking after Visitors (2013).
