Elsa, a successful advertising director, loses her mother during the Christmas holidays. Unable to process her grief, she throws herself into work until a personal crisis forces her to stop. Accompanied by her friend Patricia, she travels to Lanzarote seeking distance and healing. Running parallel to Elsa's story is that of Raúl, a filmmaker and screenwriter whose creative process gradually reveals the connection between life and fiction. Through intertwined narratives, Bitter Christmas explores grief, memory, artistic creation, friendship, and the emotional cost of transforming personal experience into art.

Pedro Almodóvar
