Set in the Mississippi Delta during the Jim Crow era, twin brothers Smoke and Stack return home hoping to leave their troubled past behind and open a juke joint for the local Black community. Their plans are disrupted when an ancient supernatural evil arrives, transforming a night of music and celebration into a fight for survival. Blending Southern Gothic horror, blues music, folklore, and historical drama, the film explores race, culture, memory, faith, and the power of artistic expression.

Ryan Coogler, born in Oakland, California, in 1986, is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer. After his breakthrough debut Fruitvale Station (2013), he directed Creed (2015) and the global phenomenon Black Panther (2018), becoming one of the most influential filmmakers of his generation. His work often examines identity, history, community, and Black cultural experience. Sinners marks his first original feature since Black Panther:Wakanda Forever and became one of the most discussed films of 2025.
