Christmas story of three lonely souls who find themselves stranded at a snowy New England boarding school over the 1970 holiday break. The grumpy classics teacher, Mr. Hunnam, disliked by all, is forced to stay on campus with Mary, the grieving head cook who lost her son in Vietnam, and Angus, a troubled but intelligent student. As these unlikely characters spend the holidays together amidst adventures and small mishaps, an unexpected bond forms, creating a sense of family.

Alexander Payne
The grandson of Greek immigrants, Alexander Payne grew up in Nebraska, USA. He studied at Stanford University before earning a Master's Degree in Film Directing at UCLA. He has made eight feature films, which have been nominated for a total of 24 Oscars, including four times for Best Picture and three times for Best Director. He has won twice for Best Adapted Screenplay, and his latest, The Holdovers, won Best Supporting Actress.
