Marat Sargsyan
Born in Vanadzor, Armenia, in 1978 At the age of 13, Marat Sargsyan started to work in local television as editor and director of photography. In 1994, he moved with his family to Lithuania, where he continued his work on different TV projects. He has made more than ten award-winning music videos. From 2005-2011, Sargsyan entered the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where he received a master’s degree in TV and Film Directing. The premiere of the first full-length feature film The Flood Won't Come (2020) took place in the competition program of the Venice FF on International Critics' Week. A Special Mention of the Jury was presented at the Transylvania IFF (Romania). The film also participated in the competition program of the Baltic States, Tallinn IFF Black Nights (Estonia). Marat Sargsyan participated in the main competition program of the Golden Apricot FF in Yerevan, in the Jeffrey C. Barbakow International Competition Program at the Santa Barbara FF (USA).
