Maria Clara Escobar
Maria Clara Escobar is a film director, screenwriter and a poet. Her first fiction feature Desterro was released at the Tiger Awards Competition at the Rotterdam IFF. Also in Viennale, Taipei FF among others. Maria wrote and directed The Days with Him, a documentary feature film awarded in festivals like Mostra de Tiradentes (Brazil), DocLisboa (Portugal), IBAFF (Murcia) and Habana FF (Cuba). The film was released in 18 cities in Brazil in 2014 and released on DVD by Instituto Moreira Salles. Maria Clara Escobar also wrote and directed two short films: Domingo selected for the school session of the San Sebastian FF, and Passeio de Família. In 2019, she published her first book of poems Medo, Medo, Medo.
