Omar Mismar
Omar Mismar is a visual artist based in Beirut. Project driven, parasitical, and medium promiscuous, his work takes up conflict and desire as they shape the everyday via form deliberations, material interventions, and translation strategies. These investigations have produced a dérive through form, from photography, sculpture, and mosaics to performance, installation, and film. Some exhibitions he participated in include the San José Museum of Art, San José; Tabakalera, San Sebastián; MoMA, New York; Home Works 8, Beirut; VideoBrasil, São Paulo; Oakland Museum, Oakland; Leslie-Lohman Museum, New York; Hamburg Photo Triennale; Beirut Art Center, and the 60th Venice Biennale.
