Saeed Nouri
Saeed Nouri, a producer and director, was born in Tehran in 1974. He began his cinematographic studies in Iran with a degree from the Sooreh Institute, following that with a Master's degree in Film Direction from the University of Art, Tehran, in 2005. He made four short films before leaving Tehran for Paris and participated in more than thirty film festivals (2000-05). He founded the Wings of Desire Institute in 2014 and has produced two fiction films (one for himself and one for another director) and several documentaries. He continued his studies in France, obtaining a Ph.D. in cinema studies in 2013 from the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin (UVSQ). Member of the Cinémathèque Française between 2006 and 2012. He made five short documentaries about Iranian filmmakers in exile. His cinematographic research has led him to interview so many Iranian filmmakers, resulting in several books published and organizing over 20 short-film workshops in Iran and France. He continues filmmaking in two principal disciplines, Fiction and Documentary. His career as a researcher on the world and Iranian cinema continues with writing articles for a film magazine in Iran and participating in the Festival de Cannes each year.
